A story that began so painfully that it was difficult to read about, much less live through, has ended happily!
March 31, 2010 - Tivi goes HOME! A wonderful caring kind hearted man, by the name of Jonathan Elwing in Estacada, Oregon has ADOPTED Tivi.
A HUGE thank you to everyone involved in helping make this adoption possible, to everyone who wrote articles, helped networked Tivi, donated money and dog food, bought calenders, clothes, toys, treats and cards. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Of all the news channels we contacted, KPTV Channel 12 - Portland Oregon, said YES, when everyone else said no. The 10 o'clock news airing of Tivi's story is how Jonathan found Tivi. Thank you KPTV Ch. 12 for helping find Tivi his forever home and thinking Tivi's story was worth telling!
Kudos to Tivi's caretakers - Randa and Susan(also known as Tivi's angels) and the volunteers at the Humane Society of The Ochocos - the depth of their love for Tivi has been evident through every step of Tivi's journey to recovery.
Tivi, may the future treat you kindly and may every day bring you happiness. You have endured cruelty that no living creature should ever be subjected to.

Hi...My name is Tivoli, also known as Tivi and I'm a handsome 7 1/2 year old neutered Shar Pei/Pitbull mix. I currently live at the Humane Society of the Ochocos in Prineville, Oregon. I have been at the shelter since June 7, 2008. This is how I ended up at the shelter: I had been seen wandering out by the reservoir and had finally collapsed at a residence along the highway. It was a hot summer day when they found me, and those who found me could not even identify my breed or my color. They said I smelled like gasoline and had burns over 90 percent of my body. I had a dislocated hip and numerous lacerations. I had to spend a week in intensive care and a month at a local animal hospital. I don't understand how someone could do this to me? I did not deserve it but my heart is healed from the hurt and I have forgiven them and I'm now ready for my new home!
My caretakers here treat me real good, but I'm really wishing I had a warm home and parents of my own to love me forever! I have developed quite a fan club, but no one has come to adopt me yet. I think that it is because I need a home with no cats or dogs or stairs. I have a pin in my hip so a home with no stairs would be best suited for me! I also need to live indoors where its nice and warm but still be able to go outdoors whenever. My dream home would be a home with grass, trees, and a nice view because I must be able to see out at all times, because I'm afraid of being closed in tight quarters. The only medical need I have is just baby sunscreen in the summer and a moisturizer at times.
I love people and I enjoy children, but toddlers would probably be too much for me. I love affection, soft blankets, chew toys, treats, bones and my little alligator squeaky toy friend named Pearl, we have been inseparable since the day we met.
